In winter, I play a little game in my house. It’s a secret game—one that I didn’t even know I played until recently. It’s called: “Wander around the house and look for the sun spot.” So I’m basically a cat.
On winter mornings, the sun makes its way onto my favorite chair, coaxing me. In the afternoon, the light streams through my office window, giving me motivation to sit down and write. It falls into my kitchen before dinner time, making the table and counters shine in time for dinner prep. It’s welcoming, and comforting, when the temps linger low.
I love when the Bible validates my own cat-like tendencies: “Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun” (Ecclesiastes 11:7, ESV).
